The sun shone brightly on those who made the short trip to Whittlesford for the first knock-up match to be held there. Lots of weed and gin-clear water suggested difficult conditions, but the fish turned up in large numbers and an enjoyable time was had by all.
Clive Bradford was boosted to the win by a lovely 6lb 01oz bream to add to his 6lb 11oz of silvers. Brian Mizon did it the hard way – all in sivers for his 12lb 07oz. Craig Henderson reaped the benefit of peg 3 which was one of the half dozen pegs cleared out by Fred Hunt the day before – Good job Fred!
Probably 2,000 plus fish were retained and transferred to Bordeaux [thanks to Brian Mizion for transporting them]. They should settle in quickly and hopefully start boosting the catches at Bordeaux before too long.
There will be another Tuesday knock-up at Whittlesford on Tuesday 2nd July – a reminder will be posted nearer the time.
