UPDATE

Following Tuesday’s Committee Meeting, we have a few updates for members:

Club Matches:

There is some concern about the recent poor take-up for matches on commercial waters. We are going to monitor the popularity of the next few and if the apparent lack of interest continues, the future programme may be reduced. If you have any views on when / where matches should be held, [ie- on club waters, mid-week or weekends, etc] please comment on the Facebook page.

Youth Open Day:

There is a separate blog-post just down the page with details of the upcoming Youth Open Day at Bordeaux Pit [Sat 20th July]. There will be a need for a work-party to clear-up some of the pegs and cut back some of the undergrowth and brambles which seem to be thriving in the warm damp weather. This will take place in the week before the event and notice will be given nearer the time. Volunteers are always welcome!

Future work party – Bordeaux

Now that the water level is falling back and the banks are finally drying out, we will be undertaking work to remove the remainder of the cut down trees and branches which are mainly in and around Peg 32. This will be heavy work, involving the use of a truck and / or winch to pull the trees out and some noisy work with a chainsaw. This will probably be on a Saturday and / or Sunday in August and, once again , we will give you good notice of the plans.

Gate at Longmoor Lake – Whittlesford:

Plans being made to carry out the necessary work to re-hang the gate and get the gate post back into the upright. This will require the use of a digger and some welding and concrete mixing. Notice will be given when the digger and workers will be on site. This will impact the availabilty of parking on the day[s] in question.

Recent catches:

Here are a few of the recent catches we have been made aware of. Thanks to Geoff Warwick and Sam Pennington for the pictures of the Bordeaux captures, and to Paul Robinson for the Whittlesford catches. Please send us any pictures you have for future updates via Messenger on the Facebook page
