Bordeaux ‘knock-up’.

1st Craig Henderson 10lb 13oz [4 carp @ 2lb]
2nd Brian Mizon 5lb 14oz [1 carp @ 2lb]
4th Peter Feestone 5lb 08oz
A tough day with a NW breeze and bright sunlight conspiring to knock back the smaller fish from feeding. As it was a ‘knock-up’ the match fished around several pleasure anglers, most of which were targetting [and catching] carp.
Craig Henderson went for carp on the feeder and this paid dividends with him landing four [counting at 2lb each] and a decent tench for the win. Brian Mizon had a decent net of silvers for second, along with a bonus carp. Brian Newman pipped Peter Feestone by an ounce – maybe as a reward for being mangled by three carp – which did not count.
Dennis Gowlett was just out of the frame due to ‘only’ landing two of the eight carp he made contact with. Apparently, Graham Carter’s two carp weighed in at approx 25lb – shame it wasn’t Wednesday!
The next match up is the Inter-club Vs Bishops Stortford on Wednesday 24th [this week]. As a concession to the visitors, carp are being counted at their actual weight for this match – so expect some bumper weights.
A reminder that the main lake will be CLOSED to pleasure anglers until 4pm. The small lake will be available.
