MATCH RESULT
1st Craig Henderson [Peg 31] 15lb 04oz [4 carp @ 2lb]
2nd Brain Newman [Peg 26] 13lb 10oz
3rd Clive Bradford [Peg 33] 10lb 11oz
A potentially tough day in hot conditions turned ended up producing a much better match than perhaps expected. All the fish caught were in good condition and none were showing any signs of distress.
A variation on the usual process allowed the participants to choose their own peg as they were drawn, so some could choose to be in the shade if they wished.
Craig Henderson again went for carp on the feeder and [again] this paid dividends with him landing four [counting at 2lb each] out of the eight he made contact with plus a couple of F1’s for the win with 15lb 04oz from peg 31.
Brian Newman fished old-school style to weigh-in an excellent bag of silvers, including some quality roach for 13lb 10oz and second place in peg 26. Clive Bradford picked peg 33, where he had caught twenty plus crucians on the Saturday to land one carp, plus a nice sized tench in his net of 10lb 11oz and took third place.
Another ‘knock-up’ is planned for Tuesday 27th August. A separate post will appear shortly on the Facebook page for that.
