A bright day, but with a distinct autumnal feel in the hefty breeze produced a good match a Beggars Hall, with SWAC running out winners by 75 points to 61. A good team effort under Captain Fred Hunt, who briefed the team on their pegs and they pretty much fished accordingly.
Mark Evans was, as predicted by Fred, the overall winner, landing nine carp for his 86lb 0oz, fishing paste and dead reds in the margins and pellets to the middle. [Hence the before and after photos!]
Graham Carter also fished well for fourth place and also winning his section. The back-up weights were strong enough to see us home for a pleasing win away from home. The full results sheet is shown below.
The return match is at Bordeaux on Wednesday 11th September, with those fishing this away leg taking priority for the home leg. Details to be posted to the Facebook Page a few weeks before the day.
