A somewhat depleted band of six anglers fished in the chilly wind at Rockell’s Farm, after a couple of last minute drop-outs. Even so, a good time was had by all.
New boy Barry Dickerson swept to a convincing win with 57lb 11oz in from peg18, landing a good stamp of Carp, apparently with a ‘secret ingredient’ in his groundbait mix! He was also well coached by Match Secretary Fred Hunt, who was his next door neighbour for the day. [This was according to Fred].
Graham Carter finished with a bit of a flurry of margin caught ‘lumps’ in the last half hour, to weigh in 38lb 14oz from peg 19.
Mark Evans completed the frame with 32lb 03oz from peg 25, where he seemingly has a residency agreement, this being the third time in a row that he has fished that peg.
Pellets of various sizes seem to have been the ‘bait du jour’.
