CONDITIONS UPDATE:

Following the unusually long spell of drab, still weather, the recent burst of cold, followed by a warm-up, plus the increase in wind [still in progress!] has begun to have a positive effect on water conditions.

There are still a lot of leaves to fall, but this weekend should see the majority of them blown down. Be aware that quite a few small branches and twigs have fallen into all of the lakes, so some pegs may be more ‘snaggy’ than usual. The Small Lake at Bordeaux seems to have lost it’s covering of algae.

In particular, the dissolved oxygen levels in the lakes are improving; latest readings:

Sunday 24th November

DO readings: [Change]

Bordeaux Main Lake 52% [+4%]

Bordeaux Small Lake 60% [+12%]

Whittlesford 56% [+16%]

Good improvements all round. πŸ‘

We have been told that both a chub and a barbel have recently been caught from the Bordeaux Pit. This is good news as neither species has been seen for quite a while.
