Just in time for Christmas, today we took delivery of a large number of fish, supplied by Mainstream Fisheries.
6000 mixed silver fish, nominally 3 – 6 inches; mostly roach, but including some skimmers, perch and the occasional gudgeon were put into the Small Lake. The intention being that these should grow on in the protected environment, where they will receive supplemental feeding, before being transferred into the Main Pit in a year to eighteen months time.
A fruther 3000 of the mixed bag were placed directly into the Main Pit. This mixture did include aa number of bonus extra sized fish, courtesy of the supplier.
We also put 100 Bream of 6 – 8 inches and 100 Ide of a similar size into the Main Pit.
The plan is to also add 100 plus Chub and 100 Barbel of a similar size, but these will be arriving after Christmas.
Hopefully you should begin to notice the improved catches almost immediately. Please do let us know…..
