Rockell’s Farm – Duddenoe End

Today saw us set off to our fairly near neighbours at Rockell’s Farm. With nine fishing we made use of just half the lake, though there were no pleasure anglers fishing as the owners had inadvertently allocated us the whole lake…..
As with everywhere at the moment, the water level remains low – only 18 inches in some places. The fallen tree branch that had previously limited access at a couple of pegs has now been removed. The weather conditions changed as the day went on and the match finished in steady rain, which impacted the weigh-in in so far as we have no photos to share, other than a slightly damp and blurred results sheet.
RESULTS:
1st. Jonathan Harris [Peg 21] 59lb 09oz
2nd. Brian Mizon [Peg 24] 58lb 08oz
3rd. Fred Hunt [Peg 19] 53lb 16oz
4th. Dennis Gowlett [Peg 17] 43lb 10oz
Your roving reporter was roving elsewhere today [and still catching very little], so the commentary is a bit limited – like the photos.
New[ish] boy Jonathan Harris swept in and scooped first place with 59lb09oz from peg 21. Apparently the first time for many years that he has fished the venue, but he clearly hasn’t lost the knack, and it’s always nice to see a new name in the frame – isn’t it?
Brian Mizon was snapping at his heels in second with 58lb 08oz caught from peg 24, whilst Fred Hunt made up a tight top three with 53lb16oz from peg 19. Dennis Gowlett in peg 15 completed the pay-outs with 43lb 10oz with a late burst of activity.
As mentioned, the full results sheet appears below.
The next Club Match is the last of this year’s visits to Long Pond [Clare] on Sunday 19th October. Watch out for the sign-up post going live next weekend on the Club’s Facebook page. This match is likely to be very popular, so book in early to avoid disappointment.
