Home Farm – Little Walden – Big Lake
After seemingly ages, the first Club Match of the year was fished today at Home Farm. A breezy day after yet another frosty night saw our intrepid anglers struggle with conditions.
Due to a ‘diary malfunction’ we found ourselves with a match arranged for Mothers’ Day – which was never really going to be well supported! Fortunately Bishops Stortford AS were in a similar position over on the Small Lake, so we combined numbers to make it a meaningful match.
RESULT:
1st: Brian Mizon [Peg 6] 33lb 11oz ![]()
2nd: Darren Cope [Peg 9] 28lb 01oz![]()
3rd: Rob Calderon [Peg11] 24lb 06oz![]()
Brian Mizon had a good finish on peg 6 to net 33lb 11oz – he didn’t start catching until 1pm! Darren Cope was second with 28lb 01oz on peg 9, with a net that included approx 5lb of silvers. The frame was completed by Rob Calderon on peg 11 with 24lb 06oz.
The full results sheet is below, along with a ‘stock picture’ of our winner from another day. There were no pictures from today, as everyone was in a hurry to pack up before the rain swept in.

The programme of Club matches is being finalised and should be available on the ‘Matches Page’ fairly soon. Dates for matches on the River Ouse are already there.
There is a ‘knock-up’ at Bordeaux this Tuesday [17th] – sign up on the appropriate post if you want to take part. ![]()
