Bordeaux Pit Big Lake (pictured above)

Stocked with carp up to 20lbs, skimmers, bream up to 5lbs, F1s [including some monsters in excess of 10lb], chub, ide, roach, rudd, tench, perch and crucian carp. This lake really has it all. It is set in a secluded spot in between Littlebury and Little Chesterford just off the B1383. This lake is also very sheltered from the wind, which makes for very comfortable fishing in the 40 dedicated pegs. The approximate location of the numbered pegs is shown on the map below.

With the water level at its standard depth you can expect to find 6 – 7 feet of water. This can fluctuate due to water abstraction in the summer and rainfall and surface runoff in the winter.

This lake has been stocked and maintained in such a way to set itself apart from commercial fisheries. It is not heavily stocked, yet you can always be sure of catching a good net of fish.

Winning tactics include maggots fished in open water or to a feature, whilst pellets are a favourite amongst the bream and carp. Sweetcorn works well in the edge in the summer too!

Bordeaux Pit Little Lake

A small stock pond with just a few pegs made for bringing up smaller fish and providing a good day for youngsters looking to catch a few fish! The depth varies, however you can expect roughly 4/5ft in most areas.

Carp can be readily caught near the reeds and skimmers, rudd and crucian carp can be caught in open water on most baits.
