So….the votes are in….. The Members have spoken, and they have done so quite emphatically.

As the graphic shows, 21% expressed the preference for specimen carp, whilst 40% plumped for silvers and general coarse fish. The remaining 39% indicating that they like a bit of both [
].
26% of the membership have voted, so the outcome is statistically sound. Every submission was verified to ensure that only members could vote, and only once.
The outcome seems to vindicate all the work that has been done over the years to make Bordeaux in particular, accessible for coarse, pleasure anglers and is gratifying in that regard.
It also supports the club’s on-going actions in predator prevention and silver fish protection. This is balanced by the stocking of specimen target fish for the carp anglers to chase.
This is the first time the committee has had verifiable data about the preferences of the membership, rather than having to rely on a collective ‘gut-feel’. This will help us shape our future decisions on things like fish-stocking and venue improvements.
Secretary Dinan Gunarwardena designed the survey and put in the hard yards in verifying the responses. Well done for the foresight and ‘top job’ in the delivery! ![]()
I am a new member to the club. But from what I have seen and the way the club conducts affairs i am very impressed with. Keep up the great work
