Today [2nd March] saw the final installment of our winter stocking programme, as we took delivery of some pike that became available at short notice from our friends at Hubble Aquaculture [the same place we obtained the 6,000 plus roach for Bordeaux].
Pike are very difficult to track down, so there were only eleven youngish fish altogether, totalling 67lb – ranging in weight from 5lb to 7lb.![]()

They all survived the journey from Kent in excellent condition, which was a good result as pike are notoriously poor travellers. Once again, Dennis Gowlett and Trevor Kappes were our ‘fish wranglers’.
We think we have managed to get something for everyone this year, but for now, we have put the transportation tanks into mothballs for the summer, but watch this space for further additions in the next winter season.![]()
