YOUTH OPEN DAY 2026

Saturday saw our now annual Youth Open day, once again held at Bordeaux Pit.

The weather was very kind to us with a bright and warm day, albeit after a chilly start for those of us setting things up.

We think it was a huge success – In the end we had fourteen youngsters signing up and fishing in our ‘knock-up’ match. Everyone of our guests caught – some more so than others! [Nothing new there!].

We divided the match into two age groups – Under 11 and 11 plus.

Results:

Under 11’s

Winner – Emily – 8lb 07oz

Runner-up – Oliver 3lb 12oz

11 plus

Winner – Luke – 3lb 15oz

Runner-up – Nathan – 2lb 06oz

A particular well done to Emily who produced a result some of our regular match fishers would have been pleased with.

Everyone went home with a certificate and a medal, and hopefully some good memories. The adults seemed to enjoy themselves as well, which is always a bonus.
