MATCH RESULT – Bordeaux Pit Sunday 25th October

MATCH RESULT

Bordeaux Pit – Sunday 25th October.

Twelve anglers fished the first of our mini-programme of Autumn / Winter matches planned for Bordeaux Pit. We were pleased to see some new faces – welcome to Felix Caboz, David Richards and David Lindsay, for what we hope will be the first of many matches. .

The guys were fishing in the back end of Storm Boelo, which had followed on from Storm Austen the previous day. Whilst it was bright and rain-free, it was ‘blowing a hoolie’ down the length of the lake.

Given the drop in temperatures and the fact that a lot of cold water had been dumped in the lake over the previous couple of days, it is perhaps not surprising that it was pretty tough going, with the fish spread unevenly around the lake. Half the participants returned the dreaded ‘DNW’, but some of the guys did find a few of the larger Bream, to boost the weights a bit.

RESULTS:

🥇1st Dean Williams – Peg 4 18lb 01oz [Lake peg 37]

🥈2nd Bob Bonney – Peg 7 8lb 05ozlb [Lake peg 35]

🥉3rd David Lindsay – Peg 5 8lb 02oz[Lake peg 1]

Dean Williams was the clear winner, netting six Bream to weigh in 18lb 01oz from the newly opened up lake peg 37.

Just three ounces separated Bob Bonney on lake peg 35, from newbie David Lindsay on lake peg 1. Bob netted a couple of the larger Bream, whilst David bagged a Bream and a bumper Perch of around 2lb to go with their assorted silvers.

It was pleasing to see some of the lakes Chub and Ide showing through and that they seem to be adding weight nicely.

Well done to the winner and framers on what was a pretty hard day. The full results sheet added is shown below, along with a ‘live action’ shot showing off one of the Bream landed by Dean, just to underline how well they seem to be thriving.

The next match will be on Sunday 15th November – the ‘sign-up’ post will appear on the Club Facebook page two weeks prior to the match as usual.
